Cool Version with Variegated Yarn
I posted this link in a comment, but it got such a positive reply, I thought I'd post it here. This Sunrise Circle Jacket was made with a stripey yarn by a German (I think) knitter. It looks totally different but very cool!

Thanks for the compliment, Kate, but it's not mine -- I think it is the work of a german designer. But amazing, isn't it?

OMG, I've been thinking about this wrinkle ever since I first spied the jacket!!! Its construction simply *begs* for self-striping yarn. Thanks for finding and passing on the pic!
